BORDERS began as a question: what exists between where we come from and where we’re going?

Conceived and executive produced by Aday in collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Chopstix, the project was developed as an audiovisual exploration of identity in motion—where geography dissolves and culture becomes fluid. At Irie Sessions, the approach was not to simply assemble an EP, but to build a world.

We started with a core idea: sound as a bridge.From there, we curated a collective of artists whose individual journeys reflect the multiplicity of modern identity: Krisirie, Skillz 8Figure, Tessellated, BenjiFlow, Ria Sean, Minz, and Yung L. Each artist wasn’t just a feature, but a portal into a different cultural perspective.

Rather than forcing cohesion, we leaned into contrast. Different accents. Different rhythms. Different emotional textures.

The role of Irie Sessions was to translate these differences into a unified sonic language, one that feels borderless yet intentional.

We designed the project as a sensory experience, where soundscapes and visuals are inseparable. Every sonic moment was imagined with a visual counterpart:

• Mood-driven lighting
• Cinematic pacing
• Spatial environments that mirror emotional states

This led to the creation of the BORDERS Soundscaping Series, a format where music is experienced as an immersive film, not just heard.
